~
This is a FOUNDATIONAL FEEDING course, which means we start at the very beginning - developmentally. By the end of this course, you should understand how to reroute a child's developmental trajectory to ensure a lifetime of successful feeding skills.
~
We WILL NOT discuss nutrition, textures, food chaining or how to prep foods for your kids to eat.
This is not that type of feeding course.
~
We WILL teach you how to prep kids’ brains and bodies to take advantage of neurodevelopment and feeding reflexes (scroll down for details).
~
This course can benefit therapists ANYWHERE along their feeding therapy journey - both seasoned therapists and new grads alike.
SLP/OT license required.
~
This course is co-taught by an SLP and an OT with over 25 years of pediatric experience combined.
Format: This is an 8 session BETA version of our Foundational Feeding for Toddlers course. We (Jamie and Nat) will walk you through our toddler feeding protocol, which includes assessment and treatment skills for kids ages 10 months - 3 years old.
This course includes 8 synchronous meetings that will take place on Tuesday mornings 9-10 am PST/12-1 pm EST (that means 8 hours of face to face Jamie & Nat time)
Meeting dates will be: 11/19, 12/3, 12/10, 1/7, 1/14, 1/21, 1/28, 2/4
All meetings will be recorded and you will have unlimited viewing access to them.
You will have Slack Channel access to Jamie and Nat during regular business hours.
We will walk you through our toddler feeding protocol step by step, which we have spent the past 3+ years creating. We have tons of material to share with you - recordings of evaluations, and lots of handout etc. to reference.
As this is the BETA version of this course, we kindly ask you to be patient with us as we work out the kinks and learn which material is the most helpful for you all to learn from. We will be learning alongside you all!
Cost: $500 or two payments of $275
Over the course of program, we will review the following:
🌵 Airway
🌵 Body Awareness
🌵 Tactile/sensory processing
🌵 Posture
🌵 Oculomotor (eye) Skills
🌵 Bilateral Coordination
🌵 Reflexes
🌵 Oral Motor Skills
We flipped the traditional feeding therapy paradigm on its head and built our protocol from the ground up.
We will teach you how to look at the WHOLE BODY as it relates to a child's ability to eat, and then how to effectively reroute each child's development to ensure successful feeding skills.
More info about Jamie and Nat
We are Jamie Keller, SLP & Nat Udwin, OT.
We met at a conference 7 years ago and have been bicoastal besties ever since. Nat lives in Atlanta and Jamie lives in Southern Cali, but that hasn't kept us from combining forces on an almost daily basis ever since.
✦ Nat has been an OT for 13 years, and in private practice for 11.
✦ Jamie has been an SLP for 15 years and has been in private practice for 9 years.
We have grown our shared knowledge and practices alongside each other by asking endless questions and scouring books and research for answers. If we don't understand something, we will figure it out. We totally geek out together about all things baby, toddlers, oral motor and breathing related. Reflexes and neurodevelopment are our favorite topics!
A lot of our calls to each other start like this : "Ok - you've gotta try this! Put your tongue here, do something silly with your head or shoulder, and swallow . . . ."
What the heck is it?
Yucca Succa is the brainchild of Jamie & Nat. It's basically a production company that we plan to use to host our products. Yucca Succa will serve as an educational platform for us so we can share our knowledge with all of you guys!
Give us a Follow on Instagram - that's where we plan to show up together from now on :)
