A Virtual Feeding Evaluation is a comprehensive developmental feeding assessment.  Nat will check your baby's reflexes, movement skills, breathing, visual skills, and oral motor/feeding skills as needed.  Nat will direct the session via a Google Meet link, and the parent(s) will perform the necessary movements.  Usually, families opt to use a computer and just place it on the floor, where a majority of the session will take place.  In a virtual session, the parent(s) essentially become Nat's hands and occasional eyes when they need a better view of something they can't see via the computer camera.  

It's a 90-minute long session, which will give Nat plenty of time to look for compensatory movement patterns and to learn about your baby's unique feeding challenges, as well as give you time to practice any exercises with the therapist's guidance.  Nat will then create a customized Action Plan (home program) including relevant exercises/activities that were reviewed during the session.  

Follow-up appointments are usually scheduled two weeks after the initial consult.  Nat sees most infants for anywhere between 2-6 sessions (with 1-2 weeks between each appointment).

We do offer virtual consultative services for families that live outside of the state of GA or even outside of the USA. These are considered wellness consults and are not eligible for insurance reimbursement.
